    Lee loader kit

    Hi guys,
Are there any lee loader handloading kits out there. Would like one in 30-30. But would be keen if people also have a 270 one and 223

They still make them in those calibres. They turn out excellent ammunition but hammering the primer in takes some faith initally. I have had a 45/70 one for 20 years and itll still be going after Im not

I used to use a Lee Loader in .30/30 - be aware that if you have a lever action, trying to crimp the bullet in place with a Lee Loader is just hopeless, you will get bullets telescoping back into the cases under the mag spring pressure. (For .30/30 best to get a cheap Lee press then you can use the Lee Factory Crimp die, which is excellent.)

Otherwise the Lee Loader kits are excellent.

(For those that might wonder - I have loaded hundreds of rounds with Lee Loader tools in many different cartridges and never had a primer go off. Wouldn't be a big deal if it did, but it's never happened to me.)

Look out for a Target Lee Loader. They are not made any more but do turn up on Trademe occasionally. They are even better than the standard Lee Loader.
