    left handed t3

am keeping my eyes out for a left handed tikka to put into my dpt stock, currently has a 308 in it and wanting to shoot a bit further out.

ideally 300wsm or win mag could go over to the dark side and go 270... (dont have anything against 270s just havent used one enough) wanting enough gun to be hitting deer out at 600 (yes i know it takes a lot of practice to hit animals at this range) ideally i will be getting closer but sometimes it just isnt an option

not too worried about recoil... he says before he jumps behind it and loses a shoulder, will be getting it suppressed but not braked

so whats out there? looking for something in the lower south island ideally round canterbury or southland (can get someone to look for me)

if going 270 route you will need 270wsm as 270win is long action.....just for clarification, I'm sure you know this already

Only one action length for T3 so it doesn't matter what the calibre is.

    was just looking into that...

its the lefthanded part thats i can see being the problem. most stores online seem to be out at the moment, have found a 6.5x55 would prefer to go big since i'm going to change from the 308 so the bigger the better!

Just ream it out to 300winmag, open up bolt face, replace bolt stop and buy new mag if you can't find a LH one you like

this is a possibiliity. i havent exactly looked after it though.... have put 400-500 rounds through it with rather irregular cleaning intervals! would also like to keep it and use it on the island over the summer and then the longer range set up for canterbury winters

have tikka 30mm rings and a vx3 6.5-20 sitting herer and need to put it on something....

It's harder to get a lefty set up, but 600 yard not that hard to reach with a 308 though. If your Tikka barrel isn't 1/2 MOA, just get a better barrel done. Truflite or something more accurate.

Yep, being a leftie limits things a little, my chassis is a leftie so might as well stick with it.

600 is Really pushing things to have enough energy to be shooting animals.... Happy that be smacking steel but that doesn't fill the freezer.

If I do my part it is getting close to 1/2moa with the right ammo.
