Lifestyle/home kill centre fire with suppressor.

My brother in law is looking for something to home kill with on his small block up north.
He wants a centre fire with moderator and the main requirement is 'cheap"
Condition is not important as long as it functions and no scope necessary. I have suggested a single shot of some sort.
Any suggestions or anything out there for sale?
    Thanks.

Most home kill butchers I know use a 22 magnum up close and personal or a bit further away if the client is a bit towy. I assume you are meaning bigger than sheep.

7.62x39mm or .223 norinco/bisley bolt action with suppressor on it works a treat and ammo is cheap.... the x39mm will give a bit of safety margin if it ever goes wrong and beefy moves head at criticle moment then does runner going mental.....poke one in behind front leg and it will fall over soon enough...not ideal but ahh well last resort option.
bakail single break open would be another really great option.

Yeah. I agree but he is on a very tight budget and is not a firearms "person" so just wants to get something and use it.

He doesn't want a scope either but with a suppressor open sights aren't really an option.

    Talking about Home Kills

As I stated before on here - I did home kills for Butcher in in those awful Roger-nomic years "circa" 1984 - 1989
I remember 1 day very clearly

Pulled up into said /cockies paddock - knowing which Steer to do.
Said Steer happens to take a liking to the Nissan Patrol and stick its big head into passenger window. (yes - my window)
King Hitter MJ (Michael J Thomson) pulls sawn off shotgun from beneath seat and places on forehead of Steer (not normal weapon - as we normaly used .22)
This as you can imagine is parallel to my head and about 6" in front of !!
I started screaming and performing like trained Seal - and Steer - God 4bid backed out and met its fate via .22 in usual manner.

You can only imagine the story in the Woolshed Tavern (Reporoa watering hole) for the next MANY nights :-(

ok sorry to point out obvious.....
what youve posted is same as what was suggested...but in calibre that will cost him heap more for ammo. the difference in purchase price between the two will get suppressor added/barrel threaded.
