did the same to a tikka 308 minus the carbon barrel (factory barrel cut back to 16 and threaded) with a dpt can , around 3.5k including new rifle . plus scope .

loving the rifle stand there too.....

Why is the scope choice confusing?

Because you have put a 6-18 scope on a 16" 308. Like putting big muddies on a 2wd ute. No good for the bush and rifle is not a real LR rig. Still looks good though

Yep, but sort of exactly what I'm after.
I'm happy to wait for anything that might want to be used till after the roar. Also after a nx8 2.5-20 for my 7mm.

Itís actually a 4-16 and if you paid less than half cost price for a brand new $2500 scope
Youíd chuck it on... my eyes arnt the best these days so a 3-9 wonít do... still shoots out to 400-500m all day so more magnification the better... and itís only like 10mm longer than my Burris veracity 2-10 and is actually lighter... perfect for what I needed

Thanks for all the help etc etc.
    Couple of developments.
Did grab that Tikka on trademe but bypassed them through his other listings. Anyway he is a genuine GC and both drive 3 hours to do the deal. Unfortunately he was heading bush for a while, and didn't withdraw auction. Hopefully the buy now wasn't picked up from someone off here.

Also big shout out to andyanimal31
He sorted my nx8 short fall very quickly.

Glad the tikka worked out mate. Saw the pic on his other auction, looked epic!
