Looking for a 7x57 wood & blue rifle - prefer Wellington region

I have a mate in Wellington looking for that dream wood n blue sporter rifle in 7x57.
    Something like this https://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=...9-CB499D28CAAA

He is very much a feel the balance and fit kinda guy so probably best to stick with greater Wellington and nearby regions, unless you are travelling that way and can bring it along for him to have a look.

He would love a M70 or Mauser. What's out there?

... or do you know who has this listed https://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=...9-CB499D28CAAA so my mate can give him a call?

That 7x57 must be good... no one is selling!
Gotta be someone out there thinking about moving their wood & blue on. Wood & stainless ok too.

I have a mint BSA Viscount 7x57 and that caliber is going to be my dream custom-build rifle. It is a superb cartridge especially with it's fast twist rate ability to shoot the heavier 175 grain bullets when required, an advantage over the 7/08 I feel. Meanwhile until the "dream" rifle is built and my minter is too collectible to thrash around in the bush I am using the venerable and trusty 308, that stalwart of NZ hunting.

Isn’t it annoying when people post how much they like the rifle/calibre you are trying to find!! So I will add to that! You have inspired me to get my new Cooper 275 Rigby ( aka 7x57) out of the safe, mount a Z5 and take it to the range! Best of luck!

LOL, it's only annoying when there isn't a photo to go with it to drool over... go on, put up a pic. You too @BSA.

This is the only two photos I have without dragging it out of the safe. I ordered it with a walnut and composite stock from new.

@Southcity how do you get a composite stock that looks like that? Is it wood on the outside, synthetic bedding?

Make sure to put another pic up when you do get motivated to drag it out of the safe.

That’s the walnut stock. I will take a pic of the rifle with the composite stock on it ( changed it over few weeks ago). I haven’t used a 7x57 so looking forward to seeing how it works on deer.
