They all have good ankle support as they are all high shank (think shank the correct word)
But the Hanwag appear on looks and feel to be stiffer and more solid.

All what I am getting are good ankle support
    They are for hunters.

    Cheers

The SHANK is part of the sole of the boot and determines how much the sole flexes - mountaineering boots for example have a very stiff shank to stop the sole flexing and the crampons falling off - if you are are using specialized technical crampons.
In a civilized and cultivated country, wild animals only continue to exist at all when conserved by the sportsman. The excellent people who protest against all hunting, and consider sportsmen as enemies of wildlife are wholly ignorant of the fact that in reality the genuine sportsman is by all odds the most important factor in keeping wild creatures from total extinction.

    Ok
That was not what we were inferring too then
The ankle support is from heel to top of the foot entry - is it called the calf ???
Can't bloody think what its called ????

Anyway - that part of boot is tall and comes well up past ankle - I do not like those boots that actually slope down and you feel like you going to fall out of them

Two criteria for my sourcing of used boots is
High calf (whatever its called) and a full rand around boot above sole
