    M88 Valmet Hunter 308 Semi-Auto Rifle, A-cat

    M88 Valmet Hunter
    Semi-automatic rifle in 308 Win, A-cat
    Made by Sako in Finland

    Parkerized finish
    Barrel length: 20.5 (520mm)
    Weight: 3.6kg (from data sheet)
    Walnut stock with tru-oil finish
Original iron sights, and original Sako quick detach 1 scope mount.
    Scope: Tasco 1.5-5x duplex

c/w original 9 round parerized magazine fixed to 7 seven rounds (works best with 6 rounds).

Also comes with two other magazines, a 5 round factory magazine (blued steel) and a 9 round factory magazine (blued steel) that is limited to 7 rounds by a spacer limiting follower travel. These were purchased in Finland, as they are no longer available and very difficult to find.
    So 3 magazines in total.

Rifle is in very good condition.
Reason for sale new project on the bench, and this has not been out for a few years.
I have owned it for 3 years.

    c/w original factory brochure.
NB: The Bushnell & Millet scopes are now sold, pictures just for reference.

Price: $1650 for rifle, Tasco Scope & original magazine (including NZ delivery, non-rural).
Price with extra two magazines is $1950.
I prefer to only sell magazines separately if rifle sells without them.

Recoil, is like any 308, nothing to dramatic.
I find it lighter recoil than the L1A1.
As for accuracy, I sighted it in when I first got it, but never really went out of my way to do groups.
Barrel bore looks good, and muzzle rifling still very tight.
@dogmatix... something that's not semi-auto, but still military orientated, and expensive.
I have not touched a bolt gun (except for my kids 22's) for years...

    Pictures of magazines.
5rnd is like new... all original Valmet mags.

@Tommy, Was thinking of that, but decided I needed a bolt gun, so doing a M40A3 with mostly real bits... and some go fast goodies...
