And a damn fine price. Why do people buy 10/22s?

So they can spend heaps of money to tart 'em up. Takes their mind off the fact they can't shoot straight. You know, ... make it even more of an ornament.

Damned good we rifles those Marlins. Well known for accuracy and reliability. I now have four in the safe, two 795's and a couple of bolt actions.

Back in the day the 10/22's were probably the most like an ak47. Couldn't kill them with a super reliable flush mag and still shot ok and good for the dough before they went plastic trigger etc.
Very happy with mine for what I got back in 92-93.
uncle has a marlin semi 22. cant remember the model but a nice wee gun.

I have a 795 and model 60,reliable and accurate but prefer the model 60 with the tube mag,the stick mag just annoys me sits right at the balance point.

Maybe... But there just isn't enough customization for the Marlins as there is for the 10/22's

That's coz the Marlin owners are too busy shooting stuff to worry about it, pretty much straight from the box. Don't need to drop another couple of a grand to get it to do what it should from the factory. I will admit that 10/22 mags can be bought pretty cheaply, pretty much anywhere. But that is because of demand. When you need 10 22 rounds to hit anything you need a lot more mags.

    Ha ha @Tommy

Well it seems that the Marlins are like the rimfire version of an AK, just pick it up and shoot it. The 10/22 resembles the AR15 - An endless supply of aftermarket parts. I was playing with Lego blocks since I was three, so it's only natural I went that route

    And no I don't shoot AK's either...
