Thread: Mcarbo Browning x-bolt trigger spring

Has anyone got one of these trigger springs for a Browning x-bolt they want to move?

i bought and fitted one on my xbolt. heeeeaaaapzszs better fyi

I looked into it a while back and it seems quite a few people just use a spring from a Bic ballpoint pen! Seems to work well (~2lb) but I wasn't brave enough to try it...

ive had mcarbo springz in my xbolt,cz,and m70. they definatly bring trigger weights right down but as strummer mentioned there are cheaper options. dont be afraid to give it a go

I've had a ballpoint pen spring in my Browning A Bolt Mountain Ti in 7mm WSM since 2009 no issues other than a crisp 1.5 lb trigger pull.

I tried the pen spring trick on my 223 Browning X Bolt Superlight and it's Super Featherlight trigger its a no go the spring is captive and a bit more involved but I got the standard trigger adjusted to 1.5 lb anyway.

So was the original spring stuffed as you tried to remove it?

No my previous experience with the A Bolt and pen spring made me decide to do the same to the Superduperfabulousextatic X Bolt as had been so successful on the A Bolt which does not have the X Bolt Superduperlightweight trigger !

Browning seem to like SUPER

Just out of interest, does anyone know where to get these or how to get them into NZ. It appears MCarbo have stopped shipping here since my last purchase.

Somebody was selling them On trademe a few weeks ago.

I would also be keen on one, for my X Bolt .223 Hunter. The factory trigger is crisp but breaks at around 4 lb.
