Medical Stuff: QuikClot, Celox Hemostatics (In Date)

I will be putting up five posts tonight for First aid kit components. See my other threads.

    All these are within expiry.

These chitogauzes have all been carried and the packaging is very worn:

2x Chito Gauze XR Vacuum seal broken EXP 06-2021 $20.00ea
8x QuikClot Combat Gauze New Condition EXP 07-2021 $40.00ea
4x Quickclot Combat Gauze Trainer New EXP NA $15.00

    1x Celox 35g Granules New EXP 06-2022 $35.00
3x Celox Rapid Gauze New EXP 06-2023 $55.00

    Happy to answer questions.

A lot of it has been purchased directly from the manufactures, some of them are friendly to international customers, a few are not so internationally friendly and I have needed to use international freight forwarders. North American Rescue are the most difficult as they won’t ship if you use a foreign card (they have a dealer network they would like you to use, but the NZ distributor only brings in a small percentage of their range).

I used to use a great freight forwarder, unfortunately they have discontinued their USA service. Youshop policy states First Aid Kits are prohibited, however this policy only exists because they don’t want to handle liquids (alcohol pads, lubes, burn dressings and liquid plasters), they will generally ship everything else. However every so often you will have to argue for 5 weeks about why a decompression needle is not an “offensive weapon”, or try to explain that Material Safety Data sheets do not exist for every product in existence.

Lately a lot of “Combat Medical” products have popped up on the market, I am assuming they lost a military contract or had major overruns. In date and complete kits are going very cheap. I have purchased a bunch of IFAKS and CLS kits to strip down for components. That is where all the Celox Rapid is coming from, as I already have Celox or Quikclot in all my kits that need them.

When I buy stuff I tend to buy more than I “need” (one of the kit, one for training/practice, and one spare). Results in my kits always being good and well stocked, but it also results in a lot of waste if I decide to change brands or swap out a component for something else. There was a lot of interest on here the last time I put up some medical stuff here, so going forward I might post here every six months or so and reduce the amount of stuff I have expiring on a shelf.

I am not a medical professional, however I am heading that way. I am currently involved in a couple organisations where I may be called upon to the “medic” for a activity (a youth training organisation and SAR) also as a shooter and a motorcyclist I think is is important to have good medical gear on my at all times.

Ah yes, we had this comment here a couple years ago when a sold a couple of the PMAGS I nicked from the Trentham armoury (within a few months of the MARS beginning its roll out i might add).

The old First Field Dressings I have up now are indisputably ex NZDF issue, (I purchased them on TM ages ago).
Camelbak Trizips are commercially available, and Alice packs went through disposals three or four years ago. I cant think of anything else ive sold that is also NZDF issue?

If you feel the need to report my suspicious trades PM me for my details.

I see that it does look suspicious. Especially for people with an eye for NZDF issue stuff.

If it’s all explainable then all good. No harm in asking though right?

Yes the question is fair, however the question wasn't asked, the implication was just thrown out there.

    The answer to the question (if asked) would be;
I have not been issued any of the items I have sold.
I have not stolen any of the items I have sold.

    Trizips are a commercial pack.
Alice packs pop up for sale all the time
Israeli Bandages are the most common pressure bandage in the world
I purchased the Feild Dressings on the yellow site years ago
