Thread: Mid power scope

Just looking for a decent mid-power scope to be mainly used for target, load development for my son. (Trusty old 3-9 is not cutting it anymore)
I'm thinking with a top end magnification of around 16 but open to whatever is available.
Prefer 1 inch tube so we don't need to buy rings as well. Keen to get the best glass, quality for our money ($400-500) instead of buying new.

ftx and a couple of other folks have had 4.5-14 loopies up forsale in last 2 months.....for what you wanting they would be ideal.

Consider Vixen 4-16, even new price competitive…

Just got 2 zerotech vengeance scopes seem good, look to be a copy of the bushnell ar scopes, very cheap new

I have a couple, look good and bright optically but not formally tested low light performance or ruggedness. Light and compact, especially the 3-12x option. I have a spare Weaver V16 plex reticle but newer scopes likely better optically..

I have a vixen 4 to 16x. Seems quite reasonable glass wise. Hardly used it as I bought it to use predominantly at night on a .223 with the night vision clip on but the base mag is too high so I took it off and replaced it.
I have no use for it so if you want it, $275. Or if you had something lying around then could swap it for something with a lower base mag and side parallax.
