    Good ol Mr Impulse Buyer decided he could do better (and then better again) by buying the next best stove (twice) so I now have 2 stoves too many.

    The MSR is rated @ 10,000BTU or about 2.9kW. All reports suggest it is indeed a grunty stove.

    The Macpac is rated @ 12,000 BTU or around 3.5kW. I doubt the output really is that more like 2.0kW and boild 0.5L of water in around 3min IIRC.
