Hmmmmm enticing exactly what I needed for a 6.5 Creedmore project is was going to do on a old Omark42b - but I've put that particular project on the back burner.

Sitting on hands now - But honestly I've got to move a couple of rifles on before I'm even ready to contemplate - bad timing is all.

Suggest you'll have no issues with selling this with the interest in 6.5 at the moment.

Would a gunsmith be able to turn this down to a sporter (or what have you) weight, shorten then chamber for my desired caliber?

Yes this can be re-profiled with ease
Had my hardy 7mm target barrel re-profiled for my 7mmRemMag from a straight 32 inch chambered in 284 to a 26inch 7mm RemMag
Shoots as well now as it did as a target barrel
The barrel won many comps so was keen to keep it

Who did that for you? I'm got a 260AI with a tank barrel that I'm thinking of having reprofiled

I took it to Hardy Engineering, they did a great job.

I've been using them and their barrels exclusively for the last few years for my target rifles with great results
