    no takers

    Hi guys must be nearly a year since I posted about any young person (pc) who wanted to to get into the gunsmithing business and I turn 91 in April who knows how much longer before the opportunity is gone , and no one is interested well there was one hopeful who asked how much I would pay him (dreamer) that almost did it I believe you can die from laughing he ...     If it had of been me 20 odd years ago I'd have jumped at it. Went into fitting and turning to do just that, went into mining and now too late. Cant be bothered doing that sort of stuff as a business and it just wouldn't make enough money. I'm a shit fitter and turner too. Been too long out of the game and never really enjoyed it. Guess what I'm doing now to pay the bills since moving back to NZ. ah well.....
    I certainly hope you find someone as the old school stuff is invaluable-not just lego set skills like a lot get away with now.

    I'm not young but if I wascloser id jump at the chance to learn some of the old school knowledge that isn't getting passed down partly because the younger ones just aren't interested and you have to earn the respect before it is passed on

    Rob, I believe your in Wanganui area,
    I am interested, currently work over seas, ( HD diesel Mechanic) next back in NZ February, 25th, and would like to come down, and have a chat,
    Due to upcoming changes, I will be back in NZ far more often, for a month at a time. looks like 5 weeks on 4 weeks off.
