Non AO scope for one with AO

    Hello Guys

I'm after a scope with AO, (either front or side) with a power range up to at least 9 and 12 or 16 would be better. Something like a 3-9x40 or a 4-12x40. I'm not too fussy about the make, any of the better Jap scopes would be fine, as would something older from the US. The scope is for a 22, I'm testing a very good 22 semi at the moment at 50m and I'm finding some parallax creeping in making things difficult.

I have to trade an older Leupold 1.5-5 x20 or a Redfield Revolution 2-7x33, or an IOR 2.5-10x42, or a High Country (Taiwanese) 3-9x40, or maybe you'd like a 22, either a Brno 2e or a Browning SA-22 (a Miroku one).

So - let me know what you think

    Cheers

Maybe shit for some purposes but OK for mine - now who's got one?

And Kiwi-Hunter - I may be blind in one eye but I bloody well can see with the other still - and you can call me Nelson!

Nikko Mountmaster make one thats reasonable but they also make a better one called a Airking. A 4-12 Airking should set you back about $200 so if you swap for one of those you are doing whoever gets your leupy etc a favour.

I have a few new ones here with AO that we have for 22s. I cannot do a trade much but I can sort a fairly sharp price depending on what you want. Petty sure there are a couple 4-16 Nighteaters (probably a bit much scope for a 22) and some others, but see what swaps you can come up with first if you like. Let me know if you want a more detailed list of what I have. There is not a lot there.

My preference if it was for myself would be the 4-12 Airking but I dont have any of those here myself.

If you have the IOR 2.5-10x42 to trade, why not just use that? It has exactly what you are asking for.

I have a few possible options, A Nikko Night Eater Side adjustment, A Nikko Diamond series (Jap) front AO, A Hawke 3-9x40 front AO, and a Leupold copy with side adjustment.

The Diamond sounds like a possibility - what power is it. Ta

Its a 3-9x40, Interesting scope. It has very clear optics with a blue tint to the image and the zoom ring turns in the opposite direction to all my other scopes. Ill get a pic for you.
