    old style or antique scope

I'm looking for a seriously old school or antique scopes that are still functional ( or newer reproductions ).
    Exterior adjustable mounts also.
Anything considered as long as you can still see ok through the optics and there is still a functional aiming point of some kind.
Scope and mounts or separate parts that I can mix and match.

Wanted for a couple of major restorations I have on the go at the moment.

    sort of like this

I think Lyman still make something similar, have seen people mount them on pre-64 model 70’s.
    More meplat, more better.

Hi=Lux optics make a WM Malcolm reproduction that will be the fall back option.
But I'm keen to see whats out there and could be worth putting some time into repairs and sorting mounts etc.
I have a few major restorations on the go for a couple of antique rifles and they will need a period scope for my eyesight.
I also want to mount something period on my muzzleloader to make it functional out to further than 50m

I have some random older scopes. Same width as the one you have pictured but they are normal scope length. PM me your cell number I'll send a pic through. I can't upload a photo as my phone is not playing the game

Nice outfit, are the optics up to the rifles capability's ?

I have a bunch of cool old rifles that I was busy trying to find Peep sights for so I could still shoot them, but I to need scopes on them now !

@MSL that looks fantastic mate! Ive just finished tidying up my Brno 465 and was looking for an old 70s steel body scope to match the era too.
    What year is your hornet?

    Yeh
Was in there the other day and didn't see anything obvious.
But must remember to specifically ask as you never know what's tucked away out the back.

I got sidetracked by an awesome antique rifle i saw there. But was just in to be checked for the owner and definately not for sale !!

Gidday. The Europeans also made scopes in the same era, I have a neat wee German one which is in need of restoration but it did alert me to the possibilities. I've since seen a few of them on eGun - Der Marktplatz für Jäger, Schützen und Angler cheers

Yes I spend a bit of time looking around on egun.
But I need to get a few old brands sorted for the search.

I have also been in touch with a mate in Germany and will get some advice from him

Not sure how ancient you want. I have a kahles helia 3-10*40 or thereabouts from early 60's 26mn tube. Glass is v good and scope is functional but not sure that it is still fogproof. Fine x hair reticle. Beuhler rings and bases. Bases fit early schultz and larsen receivers.
