Original Winchester 1897, what's it worth?

I have been considering selling my 12 gauge Winchester 1897 for a while, according to the serial number it was made in 1915, and all the numbers match. It began life with a 30" barrel, then there was an incident involving the previous owner and some steel shot. It now has a 22" barrel. I bought it because I like the design (John Browning) and the history behind it, but have a Mossberg for all my shotgun needs, and will need money for a new rifle and reloading gear soon. I haven't worked up the courage to put it on Trademe, but I'm wondering if anyone on here might know what it may be worth, I am open to offers. The bluing is almost completely gone and there is some pitting towards the end of the bore, but no rust, the tail end of the left extractor has broken off, so it still ejects, but without as much vigor as it used to. One of the pins in the receiver looks to have been replaced, but other than that, it is original. This is the take-down model, and I have fired it (and slam-fired it) safely but I think it may be better as a wall-hanger, collectible or maybe a cowboy action shotgun with light loads, I know these shotguns were well-built but I hate the idea of anything going wrong with it. Replacement extractors are available from the US, and adding a blade front sight would make it more or less riot-gun configuration, (trench-gun if a heatshield and bayonet lug can also be sourced). I appreciate any advice, cheers.Name: P1010694.jpg

Dunno what it is worth, but if I seen it on Trade Me with a $200 start, I would put a bid on it.
Which is worse, ignorance or apathy...I don't know and don't care.
