    Over/Under .410 Shotgun

Beaut little .410 Baikal Model 27 O/U single trigger shotgun. This is not a Baikal tomato stake of yesteryear. To be fair its not a Silver Pidgeon either. But a dead pidgeon works for me.

Excellent overall condition, with minor handling marks and areas of wear, indicative of light use. Bores look perfect.

Selectable top/bottom first-barrel-fire via pushing trigger blade forward. Normally fires bottom barrel (unchoked) first. Fixed choke up top. Extracts and ejects spent shells.

Nice pattern in stock and a respectable firearm - shoulders well and is pointy. Its not a miniature, looks and feels like a larger bore gun.

Pickup/dropoff in Manawatu via arrangement, or courier $40 NI / $60 SI via Fastway inter-depot.

    $700.

Makes one think of fire forming 303 to make brass cases and reloading for the little devil.

Yes but I love tinkering with things .
At present Im having fun experimenting with funny 12 gauge shells that big case is so easy to load without fancy tools. The 410 appeals because next year it will be the only cal where lead is allowed on water and its a proven performer and the magnum loads now carry the same weight of shot as was the std 12 gauge charge for the 2 inch shell and how many ducks were taken with them.

The 303 case will fit the 410 chamber , and the rim is the same diameter. The case is shorter than the 410 3 in magnum but the same as the std 410. So you can fire form them to make brass cases which are easy to hand load. Expect a few failures though as the necks a bit of a stretch. Its slso possible to chamber 40 cal pistol cartridges but their capacity is too small to be usefull.
The same applies but in reverse for 577 snider shooters where 28 gauge brass can be used in the rifle.

So buy some brass 410 from the states? I have 12g 24g and 28g brass, you can ship from the states as it’s not a rifle cal, I load my big combination gun using it. You could use a ball projectile? $700 double “rifle” sounds cheap to me and Baikel will be built like a brick shit house, you could open the chokes if it’s not chrome bore?

I refused a bag of 303 Brit shells a few weeks back due to lack of rifle to use them in
    I won't do that again
