Anyone have a pig sticking knife and a gas torch laying around willing to part with?

    After something similar to this

Nothing is tough about having a 70 lb bow and looking like an uncoordinated praying mantis while trying to draw it back.

Torch we use for singeing pigs was one that we used for wiping lead sleeves is a short flame but hotter than what you are looking at it is more precise but not that much slower. Find a old telecom cable jointer and see if they can get you one .can't have mine as one day I might shoot another pig and need it.

You can get the torches from Aliexpress cheap as. Certainly cheaper than second hand in NZ.

Knife wise, nothing better both in price and functionality than a Ka-Bar in the polymer sheath imo. Had a few knives over the years, Ka-Bar deffinitely the best, with the non-slip grip, blood drain groove (not essential but makes a difference), then most importantly the hand guard to prevent slippage. Then they're also nice and solid, the point goes in real easy and it has plenty of size for any bigger pigs in had to get places. Oh and flag the leather sheaths, their rubbish. I opted for leather up front and it started pulling apart after just the first hunt. The leathers also thin and crap, plenty of pictures online of the knife punching through the bottom of the leather.

The polymer sheaths are sweet though.

Top Gear often have them on special.
