This is the best I've come across. A little bigger than the RescueMe but it has better battery life, better warranty and floats. Also buying from a fellow forum member @CooeeBay.

That's a good price for a 10 year battery and warranty, and still only 140 grams.

Cruise around the site a bit and you'll be offered a discount too. From memory that was in NZ$ and delivered.

It just ticked all the right boxes for me because I wanted to use it on the water too.

Yip, I got one of those too. Found the discount code on the website (you might have to turn off pop-up blockers temporarily to see it) and it was around $300 NZ delivered. Haven't had to use it and hopefully I never do, but it lives in my pack for pretty much every trip I do now.

I have an ACR (coincidentally my initials) and am glad to say I have never had to use it. Whatever you do don't stick it at the bottom of your pack. Keep it closer at hand so you can easily get to it if it is needed.

    Rushy makes a good point.
If you go over a bluff (or whatever) , your pack will quite likely end up detached from you. PLB on belt or similar is less likely to be 100 meters away, stuck up a tree, while you are laying in a creek with a broken leg.

Thanks @gadgetman for the plug. FYI, when you look at the overall size of the KTi unit compered to rescueme when in its pouch (must stay connected to it or it sinks!), size is very little different.

Kti have released a Sports neoprene armband to store the unit in. If you have a KTi PLB with no armband and want one, just message me (check member profile) and I'll post one free to you. For anyone else who wants a PLB, save some time and use coupon code: NZHS05 at the checkout on the skippersmate au website or look at the nz site - It's all in fixed NZ$ prices.

Anyone know how I can financially support this forum. Tried messages to admin and no response...

I have a RescueMe PLB, got it from Smart Marine...

Permanently attached to my belt, as has been said no bloody use if stuck in pack and you can't get to it... They say it's the smallest, lightest PLB with the longest battery life on the market... I'm happy with it, not that it has had to be used...always good to have IMO
