I’m reading this thread on my phone and as I scroll I can see the scar on the length my thumb from my first Mercator that I bought when I was thirteen. I did that after demonstrating that it was sharp enough to shave arm hairs with .

You mean "A Bacho does do the job....."

At present it is my goto knife. Carry a little pocket sharpener with it. If I forget that any stone will do. Cheap, basic, reliable.....what's not to like...?????

    Cheers

Problem I had when looking to buy a knife and Mercator was my chosen knife was what am I buying. The price vary so much and plenty say genuine, but doubt a $40 Mercator is the real deal and how do I know that the genuine Mercator at $100 + is not the $40 knife in fancy packaging. Finished up buying Victory knife which I am very happy with and a good price so not so bad when you lose it.
