press to suit lyman dies wanted

i have received alot of reloading gear including lyman dies off my dad, .243, .303, .270, 30-06, and .308. i own a couple of rifles in some of these calibres so i though id give reloading a go for something to do, all i need is a press that will take the dies... has anyone got one that a could buy or swap?

    cheers

Pretty sure any regular press will accept the Lyman dies. The hard bit will be finding someone who wants to part with one. Bit like good stags, they dont get old for no reason.

Umless they are real old dies they should fit in a lee press. My lyman dies do. Dies and presses are pretty compatible

    Sounds like Lyman 310 dies 5/8 x30tpi

If so you'll need a Lyman 310 loading tool like this

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtFeQ7mzXZc

You can buy Lyman adapters in 5/8x30tpi to 7/8x14tpi so you can use your dies on any standard press.

They maybe also be Simplex dies also5/8x30tpi.

If they are buy this press.

Simplex was big in Oz back in the day

    Cheers

Are you sure the lee press didn't need the quick detach collars for the dies? Mine does. Did the lee press have three vertical strips of thread so 1/3rd of a turn is all that is needed to fully engage the opposite thread?
