    quad for occasional hunt

So, if you had a budget of say, $3000 max, what would be your pic of the crop of secondhand quads bikes ? Also, what would you avoid like herpes

Yeah don't touch a dairy farm quad mate.
Be aware that maintenance on older quads can be a few $
Look at the older trx Hondas mate, 350 or 400 maybe you road the old one we have at the farm?

Try avoid one off a Dairy farm if you can . (got a felling the tit pullers will be holding on to them longer than usual ) Suzuki seem to be value for money.
Tobys brother Luke seemed to know his shit when it came to quads ,worth talking to him maybe ?

Asking on behalf Maca, not for me.
Having a cute looking dog in tow seems to work quite nicely though

Be wary of the electronic/electric shift Honda's. As time goes by the shift motors go belly up and they are pricey to fix. I'll likely change spots and go from Honda to Suzuki next time. Have had Honda's since the mid 80's.

Anything electric on a quad will fail, they are soft, as been said the Honda trx is going
To be the best for that kind of money
Easy to fix and basic no electic 4wd to fix no vari speed belts to snap just a solid work horse
If your handy with sand paper and paint brush you can clean up any rusty shit

Main things to look for are front wheel bearing play, jack up and check, once they turn in hub The hubs stuffed( you can shim them with a beer can to patch up)
    Rust/frame damage
    Gearbox issues

But everything's fixable if you are handy
