Ring Alan Newhnam he has them without angle compensation for around $295. 06326 7077 postage shouldnt be too much.

Ignoring the fact that it's sold out at the moment this is the one to buy amoungst the vast universe of cheap rangefinders. Ranges out to 800 reliably. Cheaper than most.
My mate brought the test one @ $145, I brought the next one @ $179...

its probably worth getting one with angle of shot built into it seeing you go looking for shaggy mountain goats

not worried if it has TBR or not as I use strelok and that can do the angles anyway. @MassiveAttack I had one of those rangefinders and it was pretty impressive for what it cost, actually worked very well, then one day it just started acting up and now will only range about 400 in perfect conditions. Would prefer something like a Leupold, Leica etc as at least I can get it sorted if it plays up.

Leica rangemaster 1000/1200 or what ever they are is what you should buy, they always work and are reliable. The cheap ones are just poo.

Fair enough although that wasn't the news I wanted to hear... The reviews on the Leupolds are not that good. I would look for a second hand leica.

Ended up buying a new RX-1200i TBR/W in town just now, got it for a steal after I decided to be cheeky and ask them to sharpen their pencil.
