Rare Guided Hunting Opportunity - School Fundraiser

As a fundraiser our local school are offering an opportunity for 6 hunters to come into their valley for a 2 day guided hunt.

This hunt will take place in the Wanganui district on the weekend of the 12th July and is for meat only. There is access to 3 farms and 2 hunters will be placed on each with a guide. Hunters will be allowed up to 2 deer each.

The Wanganui district is renowned for its wild fallow deer and opportunities like this are very rare.

This hunt is $500.00 per hunter.

All hunters will be required to sign a waiver and supply us with their firearms license number prior to the hunt.

    Accommodation and all meals included.

Having been down there earlier this year, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

Re read the post Neckshot. Five Hundy gets you guided onto two deer plus food and accommodation.

"meat only"...does that mean one has to pass up any opportunity of a stag with a decent head?
Which is worse, ignorance or apathy...I don't know and don't care.

I may be reading it incorrectly but my take is that they are looking for half a dozen people to pay five hundy for the privilege (hope the use of that word doesn't start a shit fight) and not looking for heaps to buy tickets.

One assumes its about releasing the landowner/organsizer from any liability for accidents or damage to persons or property etc etc...
10MRT shooters do it 60 times, in two directions and at two speeds.

    Hi Gillie,

It is a generic type document that basically says if you shoot yourself we are not to blame.

I suggest you/the school have a read of the adventure activities legislation then. I know, arguably the adventure activities legislation doesn't apply in this case but my point is unless that waiver specifically identifies hazards to the person then i am pretty sure it does not remove responsibility from the organiser/land owner.

It is not any of my business though. Its a great idea for some fundraising. Good luck.
