We are looking forward to it but it’s been a mission getting down there. Should be down early December though getting settled in.

Mate that's a bit freaky , I grew up in Kati also, did all my schooling there , folks had a small kiwifruit orchard firstly down Leverly Lane off Park road then down Beach Road. Small world.

My parents did some work on the kiwi fruit orchards as well as milking.
We lived down matahui road but the spelling is probably wrong.

aside from the constant shaming you will recieve from anyone in other parts in southland gores not a bad place and a pretty central location for hunting/fishing

Perfect Kiwi Bush Pig set up IMO ,l still have mine from 22 yrs ago from memory. @Siras88 That is a original Remington Laminated stock ,they are a great stock as far as shape & balance but obviously "heavy " by computer Ninja Hunter standards .I have a Rem Mountain Rifle,Laminated, SS in 06 l have hunted around the world with for a couple of decades now & Stug made me one of his first CF stocks for it ,but l still use the Lam for most of my hunting as it balances & steadies nicely for off hand shooting & takes any knocks you can throw at in the field.

If you are looking to get one maybe hit up a few Gun Smiths & see if they do not have one sitting around a owner had them swap out for a Gucci Plastic Fantastic. Hunting rifle Balance & Recoil control obviously does not show up in google search for the internet Ninja Sniper ExSpurts

Gore is famed for its bogans, Valiants & line dancing. But you got plenty of good hunting in Southland

The stock was originally for a SAUM caliber possibly with a heavy barrel? So my pencil barrel .308 is verrry free floating. Scope is 3-9x.
I agree with your position on the perfect bush rifle, I would probably switch back to the synthetic stock for purely bush stalking or get a CF stock but like you say the laminate makes it super solid and takes up some recoil.
@chainsaw haha the hunting and fishing will make up for it

Yeah I actually enjoy it, with the other stock small stuff would get stuck down by the barrel but this is less of a problem now

I had to travel down to Gore, Winton and Otautau to install some very fancy cctv in a certain farm suppliers because you lot apparently like your fertiliser and iodine a bit too much

Stayed in Riverton and got accosted daily for 'spying' on you all. Loved it, had a laugh with the locals, put up a few "24 hour cctv" stickers on some lamp posts too just to keep you on your toes

Bloody nice looking rifle. Yea gore is not a bad place. Grew up there and moving back end of year so feel free to message me and can meet up. Always good to meet like minded people
