Thread: Rem700 223 barrelled action 1:8 $600

223 tactical. Very good condition. Replaced with my model 7 so getting barely any use in the last 4-5 years. Probably sub 300 rounds down range. 1:8 twist.

Factory length @20” from memory.

This must be up someone’s alley?? SA stock, Bottom metal and away you go

Shoots well enough with boxed 55gr factory stuff. Does very Well with 69gr fiochi and other similar factory loads. 77gr belmonts where great but only got 50rds off a mate and see they bit harder to get atm.

to clarify what you're selling:
a Rem700 short action and barrel
no stock
no bottom metal,
no magazine, magazine spring, no cartridge follower
- is that correct?
Does it come with the trigger group / safety?
Does the action have scope bases?

Yea sorry mate, that’s may be a bit more helpful.

Barrel, Action, Trigger.

Factory new spec + tread. ie not messed with.

The Rem 700 Tactical is either 1:12” twist (earlier) or 1:9” twist (later).

AFAIK they never made a 1:8”.

I said definitely 1:8… but know you’ve got me thinking. I’ll double check.

Is stamped “Tactilcal” pretty sure says 1:8

Is approx 2015 era from memory.

We’ll I be buggered… all these years. I don’t have the box anymore and isn’t stamped 1:8 like I thought.

Looks like your on the money there. It always suppressed me that it shot the 55s alright when my 1:8 model 7 wouldn’t.
