    Remington .284 + Reloading Gear

    Hi,

I am wanting to sell my Remington 700 Mountain Rifle that has been rebarrelled in .284 Winchester. (Barrel is a 22 inch Hardy Barrel. Fluted and installed by Scott Trail.) There is nothing wrong with it and it shoots and performs well. I am only selling as I want to buy Timmay's Creedmoor.

It has only fired about 40 rounds in load development and a few knocking over deer.

It has the mountain rifle laminated stock. It just has a vinyl covering at the moment.

The current load has a 139gn SST doing 3060 fps. This loads shoots 1 inch at 200 yards.(See target.)

It is a mild shooting rifle that has good hitting power and ballistics.

    It includes:
    - over 100 brass
    - Hornady custom dies.
    (Can include rings/bases as well.)

I think $2000 is fair for this package.

    Cheers.

stick with the 284, 6.5's are never going to match the knock down power of 7mm's.

Yeah I know. ..but it's just the itch to try something new. If it doesn't sell in not to worried as I have a Stug Stock only a few weeks away. .....

I'm really tempted on this. I just brought my old one back and it's setup for long range this would be a great hunting rifle.... what's the stock under the wrap? laminate?

Are the 700 mountain rifles a long or short action length?

    Hi.
They come in both short and long actions. this one is a short action as it started life as a 7mm-08

    Hi,
Yes the rounds fit I the magazine. Sorry I do not know how far on the lans they sit. How can you tell? (I have the load development done by someone else.)
And it has an extended mag box, but not a wyatt one.
And no the action hasn't been trued. I didn't see the point as this is a hunting rifle. And I'm glad I didn't since this has proven to be very accurate as it is. So I saved spending unnecessary money!!
    Cheers.
