    Remington/FN Model 8 or 81's

    Evening all,

Been collecting early auto loaders and I find myself enjoying shooting/hunting with and collecting one of John Brownings greatest achievements, the Remington Model 8. So much so that I would love a model 81 woodmaster and other model 8's to add to the collection, any caliber.

I can purchase or I have numerous items to trade for any of these magnificent old rifles, let me know if you've got one you could bear to part with.

    Cheers,

    Rob.

Been a while so I thought I'd bump with an interesting bit of info, the model 8 in 25rem caliber was the rifle used (most likely) in the first successful aerial animal culling operation in 1910! Just a couple years prior to the nz chopper boys link for info The Great Model 8 & 81 ยป Remington’s Aerial Autoloader

had to have a look at them. A passing resemblance to an A5 albeit tapering to the front.
Good looking rifle and would've been great back in the day.

I reckon any soldier would have been glad to have one over a bolt gun, they're accurate, fast firing, last round hold open and stripper clip fed. I am very lucky and have 2 original stripper clips (as they are very hard to find these days)

Bumping with a question, anyone ever fire one in 25remington? The action on these is a bit of a hammer of the bench in the 35rem, i had to put a slip on recoil pad for those prone shots. (To put it in perspective I was shooting my 1895 sbl 45-70 marlin and it kicked less) Curious as to anybody's experience with the smallest of the chamberings as I have heard (though unconfirmed) it is very light to shoot?

Reckon I'll keep beating this dead horse with another bump.
