    I had two of those FN browning Model 1900’s in .35Rem. I had no idea what I was looking at when I bought the first one, only that it looked and worked like an Auto 5 shotty and was so interesting I had to have it. It was marked WM Hazard on the tang. I contacted the Browning Collectors Assn in the US and their secretary, Tony Vanderlinden, got back to me with various details about it, and he also told me about Hazard having a gun shop in Lower Queen Street Auckland in the early 1900’s. I joined the BCA and even went to their 75th convention in Utah in about 2002. Spent 4 days with Tony and a heap of great guys and gals, met a couple of John Moses Browning’s descendants and toured the Browning Museum in Ogden. Great trip. I bought a second one because Tony was keen to have one and had been looking for a long time. In the end, we were stymied by his importer not being able to make good on obtaining permits. Could get it out of NZ no problem. If I recall, I paid 600 for the first, from Klaus Pommer at a gun show in Manukau Velodrome and 650 for a much rougher one from Carvells. At one stage, more recently, Gun City had them for around 2700. I’d be interested to know what they fetched in the grab, because they weren’t listed. There were only 3419 of the FN version made... i sold both years ago, for what I’d paid.

    Thankyou for the info! I love the browning museum, i've been through Utah twice and at both times I have visited to see the prototypes and early models. My two model 8's are well used though ones a nice early example before they were called model 8 and were just known as the remington autoloading rifle. I need to take some photos of the FN 1900 because apart from a couple scratches from storage it is in such good condition it looks unfired, no carbon anywhere and the bore is mint. I need to contact the BCA and request some info I guess.

    There was no way in hell I was letting them get crushed either, I would rather donate them to someone overseas than see them get destroyed. I could not convince others to save them though and I know of a few that sadly went to the crusher.

    And one from the Browning Convention. I had a shit digital camera, an early one that was just not up to indoor work, but this is Angelo Bee, who trained as an engraver at FN Liege under Louis Vranken, with some of his work...

    A mate of mine in France has one of those Mohawk in 35 remington. He is not letting it go.
    Buy the way, a 35rem cartridge would probably fit well into a Howa mini action ( similar head size as the 6.5 grendel or 7.62x39)

    @ishoot10s

    I wonder if the one I had was bought from you via tradme in 2007?

    I was offered $3000 USD for it later on,it made $750 in the gun grab.Less than a daggy Mini14 that I kicked the shit out of for years.

    Wankers.

    Haha treeboy3 that’s the one! Oh that’s sad, but not surprising.
