On target nz has acat trigger forward 7.62 brand new. Republic arms has Saiga ver2 that you would need to convert which is easy and you can
put a nice RSA or ALG trigger in when you convert to trigger forward. I have been looking for a 223 model for a while now with no luck. If you hear of one, I am all ears.

Thanks guys. Will check them out.

Someone has offered me a genuine saiga M3 EXP 01 which is basically identical to the second rifle in the photos.

Anyone know where to get a krebs saftey for a saiga?

Brownells has them at US$62 so under 100 bucks so they should be able to send it over with our drama. you will just need import permit off the feds.

I have a rare 11" 1-7" twist shorty Saiga 102 in .223 one of only 2 imported to nz. It has a few mods and a MAE suppressor, two 7 round mags, Bulgarian stock, trigger job, gas tube tuned to cycle without excessive gas, conical muzzle break, two reciever covers, one std one with weaver rail, about 250 rounds of 55gr zmax loaded for the short barrel. It throws pretty big flames with factory loads.
It may take a little to twist my arm to sell it but its sat unused in my safe for almost 10 years. Make a decent offer. I cant remember if I fitted a feed ramp to this one but will drag it out later and check.
Its a very light and handy bush gun and has outshot every AR15 Ive owned at 100y.

must be more than two imported as at one stage I had 3 of those factory shortys sitting in my safe- down to one now very acurate and low recoil when compared to my 7.62x39 ak's

I thought they fitted all "normal" aks . What is the difference? Not trying to be a dick, I was going to order one for my 7.62 saiga but now you have me worried.

From what I understand the detent is in a different spot so it won’t ‘click’ into place on the receiver.

Look up the specs tab it specifically says not for saiga.

Krebs has a specific saiga model on his site.

I emailed brownells about SLR rifleworks handguards. They stock some but not the ones I want. They said they can special order but will be 8 weeks. I will ask the same question for Krebs and see what they say. Are you in a big hurry.
