Thread: Sako 300 win mag Carbonlight or Finnlight 2

Hi there, ive got an old hunting mate, who is in his mid 60s and had all but given up hunting because of a buggered back. But although he built his own alloy boat and enjoyed his fishing, he still hankered for the hills and really missed his hunting. Well he recently enjoyed a fly in to St Winifreds hut in the Havelock with his three sons (who are all keen hunters, after having been introduced by there dad at young age) and shot a couple of tahr (something. hes always wanted to do) He realized he can still do this, if he takes it easy and paces himself, and is really keen to return south and do some more tahr hunting and would love to get a decent bull in winter coat and have it mounted. Hes really keen to set up a 300 win mag Sako in either Carbonlight or Finnlight 2 if anyone knows of any kicking around ? if so PM me and i will put you in touch with him

Yeah, Philipo had a Carbonlight for sale, but i think he has decided to keep it

Sound like exactly what a old boy with a bad back needs, super light 300wm haha.
Must be tuff.

Probably wont actually fire it alot to be honest. Just likes being out in that country. But hes fired a lightweight 300WM with a terminator T2 on it and reckons recoil not a problem

Sako carbonlight 300win actually not “light” at 3.1kg compare to tikka superlite at 2.8kg, but a Sako is a Sako, you know it.

Their 2.8 kilo with alot more steel in them than a tikka so their doing pretty good on the lite weight front I'd have thought be lighter than a rem mag because the hole down the barrels bigger
