Selling Savage Model 14 American in 223

    Hey guys,
I've had a few vet bills recently and my computer has just conked out so that's hurting the wallet a little so I've gotta say bye to one of my rifles.

I'm going to flick of the 223. I've only taken it hunting twice, and only taken it out on the farm for shooting probably a half dozen times. It just sits in the safe as I hunt 90% of the time with the HMR, and when I need something bigger I grab the 7mm08.

I'm going to stick it on trademe in a couple days, but thought I'd give you guys first stab at it if anyone is interested.

It's in great nick. It does have a little bit of pitting from rust on the back of the action (see pics) from sitting around. The bore is nice and shiny though. Another thing to note is it has the grey mag instead of black as when I got it home from the shop they'd left the mag out and couldn't find it so had to give me that one.

It's 1:9, so loves the heavier bullets. I've barely done any load dev work for it but I know the 77g Sierra matchkings with a light load can get under 1/2 consistently, and with the faster 55's and a decent load it's about 0.7. I'll give you what I have in terms of load data on sale.

    A few notes
    • 1:9 twist so loves the heavier bullets.
    • No scope or rings included. This is just the bare rifle.
    • It's been threaded for a suppressor by MAE.
    • I'll chuck in a box of 50 hornady training rounds too (the brass stuff).

PM me or post back if you're interested. Happy to arrange a viewing. I'm looking for $800 for the bare rifle (I think they're $1,200~ new? If so that seems about right).

Sale is subject to having a firearms license and not seeming like a dodgy prick

Great rifles, love mine. Shoots half inch groups with quite a variety of different loads. Good luck with the sale.
