    and that right there is a misconception.....the chokes arent that tight..... the barrel is narrower than others to begin with so the chokes appear tight yet the "degree" of constriction is the same ..... as I said above the barrel reads around 1/4 choke in the middle so what looks like super silly full is same as full.

    They don't just look tighter. They are. Mine have full and extra full choke as per the choke gauge tool. Was heaps tighter than full.

    youve missed the point jim..... the choke guage tool assumes the barrel is at cylinder for majority of its length...the rusky barrel is at 1/4 so it is smaller to begin with,therefore the amount the shot is squeezed at the choke is the same .....

    The difference between cylinder and full is only about 5 hundreths of an inch so if the barrels look skinnier its either an optical illusion or thinner steel. There are also chokes tighter than full, turkey is one im familiar with but there are others. I suspect that unless opened out properly steel is a no no, and then its lost its usefulness for lead. Pitty because they are good shotguns.

    MH we use steel in 2 of them...one has chokes sawn off and the other we bored out ourselves in backyard.....12 years ago,its shot steel since day dot...no issues.
