    SMLE scope base

Anybody got a No1Mk3 scope base/rail not being used?

    Need a 3 screw hole (1 rear, 2 front) base/rail.

My eyes are getting a bit too tired for open sights for my sporter.

can you not just use a piccy rail??? they are cheap enough and have multiple holes...would nt be too hard to drill another if in wrong spots....

That's a nice looking sporter, have you restored it?

I've got the same model, looks a bit worse for wear these days.....

Not by me, but its been reblued sometime in its 104 years.
Its bit of a bitsa, has a No4 butt stock and mismatched bolt. But has nice sharp rifling.

I got an ally one . Looks like you just stuff it in the action and crank up a few grub screws to hlod it in place . Also has screw holes but 2 at each end . Cond is a bit rough but it will do the job . Im taking it off a #1mk111* that I want to return to full wood. I can post pix tomorrow if ya want .

Its for for 19mm "Parker Hale" rings but others like those made for CZ's will fit with the tab cut off. I have one like the one on TM if you'd like it.

i'd be careful with PH rings personally. Only say that as I shot some 180 grain stuff trying sight in a sporter for a mate and the recoil yeeted the scope into my face.

yes - I'd agree, the PH rings are one of the reasons alloy rings got such a bad reputation IMO . . . .
