you may also find people a little more responsive if you head over here https://www.nzhuntingandshooting.co.nz/f34/ and introduce yourself, instead of just joining up and trying to sell your gears, this is so much more than just a buy sell site......just saying

I can come for a looksee and help organise a trip south for any you wish to donate. Some pretty big hammers will be pointing at them, what cal do you rate them to? Do you use hardox, biz or the like?

Gibo, what sizes would you be after? I'm about to do a run of squares. Would be happy to donate a few for a bloody good cause. The Big C hits bloody close to home for me at the moment. Would be AR500 12mm. Nothing will hurt them.....maybe a 50 could.

Wow that's a cracker offer mate. I guess as close to 1 metre square as possible. That is roughly 2 MOA at 2000 yards. I understand that is a big gong mate and a fair chunk of steel. We do have some great folk heading down by vehicle from Welly too so getting them there could work.

    What sizes could you spare?

We could also raffle them off once used for the charity as an option too?

Happy to have a chat over a call if you wish just PM me your cell number.

Shit, that's a big gong. At 2000m I'm pretty sure 10 mm Bis80 would be plenty. I've just priced 600mm square for a guy, that works out at $96 + gst. Just did a bit of research and I'm pretty sure 6mm would be ok at that range. Gibo do you know anyone that knows a bit more about shooting those kind of ranges and what steel they use. I can get most types.

I talked to a few guys today that shoot steel heaps. The consensus was at those distances thinner steel would be better. The gongs at Brads are 20mm Biz and they hardly even move even with Greg's 50 (well maybe they do for that)

Even if we had pass throughs it would still be easier to detect a hit at those ranges with thinner steel.

If we could source 1 at say 1m square for the 2K and one at say 750mm square for the 1500 we would be hummin I reckon.

I will wait to see if anyone has the reverse advice.
