    Subsonic 243 ammo

Anyone know if this exists as factory ammo?

Got a mate that's wanting to try some but not into reloading, I should be motivated and get dies for him and do it myself but easier if he can get it from a shop!

I tried subsonic 260 loads in my model 7. Using trailboss I had no problem getting the speed down to the right level and the sounds was perfect. The problem I had is a wanted a heavy bullet and found a 160gn Hornady round nose. Very long bullet. My 1:9 twist barrel could stabilize them and they cut though the target sideways.
@223nut if you do this, you'll want he heaviest bullet to get for your barrel, in a standard 243, suspect this will be a 105gn of similar.

105 gr at 1150 fps gives 308 ftlbs of energy about the same as a 22 mag but quiter if used with a supressor

Yes, 308ftlbs, plenty to kill a few hares to feed the dog while out on a multiday trip without blasting up the valley. All done without having to take a second rifle.

Yet to see what the 150gr subsonics in the 308 do to a deer but the couple of possums didn't have much to say after
