    SWAP .270 for a .243 or .223

    Hi Guys,

Swapping on behalf of a mate. I've got a remington 700 sps s/s in .270. Good condition, 2 and a half years old. less than 100 rounds through her. No rings or scope.

He's keen on a .243 or .223 with rings and a scope. I haven't got photos of the rifle but will get him to email anyone interested.
    cheers,

    Grant

If i read that right he will get a rough as guts burnt out rifle with a knocked around 500 buck scope if he wants a straight swap.

    Hey VC,

I think the rifles worth about $700, So I was thinking he could get a .243 or .223 for around that price. Scopes not overly important. But does help.

A smaller caliber does not mean a smaller price .

I payed i think 700 for the wifes 243. In very good condition.

The point i was trying to make is the Rem is fairly cheap new , so to swap second hand for something with a half decent scope as well when it has none and no rings or mounts. Said rifle would have to be worth next to nothing.

Swap bare rifle for bare rifle you might get somewhere.

The savage I am testing is $999 as a package, weaver scope, nice little rifle IMHO! It's in 223 good luck to your mate!

replied to your PM major, long gone sorry. Hopefully the new owner has had success with it? (member here) got a great deal which is awesome. But if I can offer some advice, if your going for any caliber bigger than .243 - get a decent stock. I purchased a ruger all american sight unseen because of reviews and I didn't even waste a single bullet on it before I moved it on because it was shit house. I know we all have budgets and - trust me , I have a mortgage and a wife who studies and I'm only a carpenter on wages, but don't skimp on shit when it comes to shooting past 200yds. The rem 700 wasn't that great as a factory rifle. As an action - apparently great.
