    Swap....NHM-90 7 round mag for a 5 round mag

Hi all, i want to swap a 7 round Tasco polymer mag (great condition) for a Steel 5 round mag (also in great condition)....

just in case an over zealous police officer confronts me over the 'stupid' law that says it 'appears' to hold more than 7.....it is a 10 rnd mag with an 'enlarged stopper' in the mag well so it only holds 7 rnds

That rule changed slightly on 11 December 2013.
You are actually fine with restricted to 7, but still looks like it could hold 10.

    Interpretation
    (1) Section 2 is amended by repealing the definitions of military style semi-automatic firearm and sporting configuration and inserting the following definitions in their appropriate alphabetical order:

“military style semi-automatic firearm means a firearm (other than a pistol) that is—

“(a) a semi-automatic firearm having 1 or more of the following features:

“(i) a folding or telescopic butt:

“(ii) a magazine designed to hold 0.22-inch rimfire cartridges that—

“(A) is capable of holding more than 15 cartridges; or

“(B) is detachable, and by its appearance indicates that it is capable of holding more than 15 cartridges:

“(iii) a magazine (other than one designed to hold 0.22-inch rimfire cartridges) that—

“(A) is capable of holding more than 7 cartridges; or

“(B) is detachable, and by its appearance indicates that it is capable of holding more than 10 cartridges:

I had some of those mags seized at customs and destroyed, that was annoying.

Yeah Dogmatrix, thats the whole point of my request....thought i would explain why i wanted to swap a 7 for a 5....its a stupid fukin useless rule....but...in theory the law could have me by the short n curlies!!!!!!!!

'“(B) is detachable, and by its appearance indicates that it is capable of holding more than 10 cartridges'.......if i was so inclined (shock, horror) i could cut off the plastic below the follower and the mag will hold 10....

DONT ask me how i know this please!!!!!!!!....wink, wink

Or just don't worry about it because you are within the law. I sold my 5 round metal mags for those polymer mags because the metal mags didn't always latch easily and they don't wear in. The polymer are modified slightly to latch easily and I wore them in so they are smooth (some smoother than others).
