    T3 Trueflite 284WIN

    284 Winchester
    Tikka T3 Long action/magazine
24" 1:9 Trueflite UM barrel (approx 200 rounds old)
    Barrel is between a #4 & 5.
Deep flutes to reduce a bit of weight.
    m14 x 1 thread with thread cap.
Factory stock has had alloy pillars installed & the barrel channel opened out
    Limbsaver recoil pad.
    Gunworks stainless action screws
    Factory 25mm alloy rings.
50 x Lapua 6.5-284 cases that have been expanded to 284. Unknown firings, but will be less than 4.

Fluting done by Scott Trail. Everything else done by Grant @ Trueflite.

Kitchen scales put it crudely ~3.2kgs

I purchased this second hand but haven't fired it - I have had an ultra light rifle scratch and have just ordered a Forbes in 280AI to itch it.

    $1450 sent. Based in Auckland.

    Bipod not included.

Anyone think the barrel can be shortened? Maybe 18-20" range?

You got your itching and your scratching around the wrong way.
@Ranal, yes, have seen similar shortened down into the flutes, as long as the flutes are not real deep and end up affecting the threading it will be fine, they dont look like real deep flutes to me.

I'm not a gunsmith or machinist but imagine it would be fairly straight forward. Having a larger diametre barrel would probably mean the depth of the flutes wouldnt be too far off the factory contour. Also, the larger diametre barrel would make for a solid shoulder for a suppressor to lock against.
