    Thread Repair Kit, M18 x 1.5, wanting to buy or borrow. Helicoil or the likes.

    Wondering if anyone out there has a thread repair kit in M18 x 1.5 or know of anyone who has one either to buy or to possibly borrow? Discovered the threads in filler bung of my transfer case have been pulled out by the previous owner. Or does anyone know of any outfits in Christchurch that would be able to do the work? Truck is on the coast but doesn't look like anyone has one over here.

    @LittleDave

    order in a heli coil set.

    Most engineering and automotive shops will carry them.

    Its a very easy and quick job to complete

    Cheers

    I did look at buying one new, it sounds like it will cost over $300 for the kit, so I thought I'd ask around first. I did see ebay has them for under $100 with a bit of a wait for shipping.

    Cheers Bushrash, will try him tomorrow.
