Tikka LSA 55 260 Rem with Hardy CF Barrel, Lapua Brass, Dies

Tikka LSA-55 originally chambered in 22-250 Rem but re-barreled with a second hand Hardy carbon fibre 22" 260 Rem barrel.

    Threaded 18x1 with thread cap.

Best factory triggers ever produced (3lb).

    Steel 3 round magazine.

    Tikka 1" rings.

Weaver Bases (front base, front screw requires shortening as it hits new barrel threads.

    Bedded immaculately.

    Weighs 6lb 1 Oz.

Original walnut stock with palm swell.

70 ish Lapua Brass and Hornady Dies.

I have 100 308 Winchester Brass that has been resized to 260 that will come with the rifle.

Original barrel is rough in last 2-3" but still shot MOA with factory ammo, 20" from memory with a 9/16x24 thread.

Shoots very well, tried 100 Amax, 123 SST and 140 SST over WW760 as well as 130 ELDM Match ammo and Fed Fusion. Worst group was 1" at 100m with a 4x, 1932 post reticle scope. Previous owner claimed 1/4 MOA accuracy with 44.5gr AR2209 and 140 ELD-M. the above hand-loads all shot 1/2 MOA and they all grouped in the same spot (no drastic elevation changes even with a heavier pill). I had this put together to sell as I don't require it but do need cash.

Bottom group was shot at 100m with a fixed 4x scope, bottom two rounds are sighters (fed fusion 139gr) and top 5 are 123SST Handloads over 44 gr WW760, Lapua Brass and CCI LR primers. I pulled the last three shots right which went cloverleaf.

    After $1500 ONO

Nice rifle but you're stock piling your firewood the wrong way

Turn it and stack on there side so the rain doesn't get into open end of grain...it will dry heaps faster

So, many years ago I re-barreled one of these from 308 to be one of the original 7-08s' in the country. I can't speak highly enough of the action and trigger and the inherent accuracy. I recall a very firm half cock too.

A fabulous basis for a lightweight rifle. Someone will love it.

My first rifle was an LSA model 55 in .243 win. Bought it cheap off TM. Poked barrel. Damaged crown. But nonetheless, the trigger and action left a smile on my face!! If I had the $$ back then, I would've got it re-barreled.

The triggers are unbelievably crisp (better than any Sako or newer Tikka IMO), and the actions a joy to cycle.

Any idea of rounds down ?
Was the Lapua brass fired in this chamber, and if so how many times.

@johnd the last owner had it threaded in a hardy custom action and fired approx 50 rounds in load development. He reported 1/2 moa accuracy with a 140eldm and 44.5 gr AR2209.

I have fired a total of 20 rounds load development so it has done an honest 100 rounds or less and this is reflected in the internal condition of the bore.

The Lapua Brass is second hand to me having been fired twice in the previous owners rifle. I have fl sized all of it and primed it, there are approx 50 rounds primed twice fired and 20 rounds thrice fired.

I have new 308 Winchester brass that is necked to 260 that is once fired in my old model 7.

The gunsmith that set this up reported the chamber is on the main spec for a saami chamber and as such it is firm (very slight resistance) when closing the bolt.

    He recommended new brass.
