    trigger for remington 700

Just want something that is better than the factory.
See if there is a second hand one that is cheaper than the new ones for sale here.

    Take it to a gunsmith?

$65 will get you a good trigger...

I got one out of an hmr bergara . I believe they are the same as the original Remington triggers. Very nice unit. $50.

I found after adjusting mine to 3.5lb, it does not engage the sear sometimes when I only lift the bolt, I have to cycle the bolt every time so it engages. Also when I put the safety on and off, it becomes very light, only 1lb. But if I don’t touch safety, it’s at 3.5lb every time.
I think I’ll just change to a Timey to avoid all these issues.

Sounds like something screwy with the way its being set up. Mine were not like that after they had be tutuéd with by the gunsmith.
