Valmet Hunter M88 .308 Hunting Rifle

    Hi everyone,

Up for grabs my semi-auto Valmet Hunter M88, in .308 caliber.
If you're a fan of AK's then this should be high on your list, you basically can't get better than Finnish made! I'm sure you can agree that this is much better than the Norinco Chinese copies!

    Included in sale:

    1x Valmet Hunter M88 (in .308)
1x Original Valmet (quick detach) scope mount & rings - Arguably more rare than the rifles!
    1x 5 Shot magazine.
    42x Winchester 147 grain FMJ
    30x Once-fired Winchester 147 grain FMJ - brass
    20x Winchester 150 grain Super X Power-Point
(No ammo included if sent via courier)
    Looking for $1400

    Useful free stuff:

I have PDFs of the manual, exploded diagram & parts list.
Also, I have what I believe is an armourers manual PDF for Valmet rifles (in Finnish) titled: rynnakkokivaarinkasikirja
If you're good with google, you can find the information yourselves, else I'm happy to provide the PDFs.

If you wish to explore Valmet rifles there is not a ton of info available, but I have come across this useful website:

    Valmet.org
    Valmet.org :: Index

Additional Photos: Valmet Hunter M88 .308 - Album on Imgur

Pickup preferred, but I can arrange shipping at buyers cost.

    Located in Birkenhead, Auckland.

Don't need a semi-auto, but this looks very tasty.

As everyone on the forum knows - I'm 'busted' for dough in that class.
Knock a zero off the price and I'd be in

lol... mate to own it from new I would need to be a fair bit older myself! I've owned it for what, maybe 1.5 years now. Took it to the range once and then ended up with a mortgage, so it's been in the safe ever since! I can't really comment much on the accuracy potential for it - I put some of the cheap Winchester FMJ ammo through it but didn't get great results. I don't have that much experience to be honest but it was probably down to ammo-type, amateur shooting technique and me not knowing the twist-rate of the barrel.

You're welcome to come view the rifle, odds are you'd know more than me! I'm sure it can be as accurate as any good quality semi - the Finnish didn't skimp-out on quality!

Would love it but not worth sleeping in the shed with the dog for the foreseeable future!

What condition of the barrel. Degree of wear?
By any chance not the same rifle offered by Serious Shooters some time ago.

I believe the barrel is pretty much new from looking at it. You are free to come and assess it for yourself
I've owned it for what? Maybe nearly 2 years now??? I have never advertised it on a store page, so it must've been another one!

...if it was offered by a store, it would probably also be closer to the $2000 mark lol

The one Serious shooters had a couple of years back is in my safe but now with a walnut coloured stock and a few extra magazines.
Its a bit of a safe queen now...
