    VERY Early Winchester 94

    Hello all,

A brief apology as this contains neither photos nor price yet.

I have a mate who has an original first year of production winchester 94, numbered 20,194 and wants to sell however he has no idea (and neither do I) where to start with the price.

It has the original barrel and all original parts though it appears to have been reblued at least once in its long life.

I need an expert or twos advice on what to price it at (rough figures), I will try and get photos in the next few days.

Any winchester guys out there with some thoughts?

    Cheers,

    Rob.

30-30 cal, though its stamped 30cwf which they did in the first year of production for some reason. Would like to go to the antique arms this thursday but I have a prior engagement.

Whereabouts are you? I'm going to go, as are a few other members, surely someone can take it along. There are some very knowledgeable people there that aren't internet types.

Its in penrose, will need to check with the owner whether he can take it along, I doubt he would let someone else take it.

Fair enough, it's in the neighbourhood of the meetings anyway. Best of luck

Depends entirely on condition; having been reblued is a big mark against it already, more so if the stock has been refinished also. If it has a poor bore it might be difficult to sell at all. With an excellent bore and it might go for $800-1200 depending on who wants an old pre'64 1894 this week. If it were a rifle it would go for more money and there would be more interest, I assume it is a carbine.

Excellent bore, original barrel and it is a rifle to the best of my knowledge.

Have you thought about advertising it internationally?
There's some serious money talked about on some of the American forums for old stuff sometimes.
