Hey mate, sorry was meaning a personal locator beacon. Was hoping someone had one that was close to expiring so they upgraded and I might be able to buy the older one until can afford a new one.

If you do get a second hand one, make sure it still has enough battery life in it. You don't know how many hours it may have been previously activated or tested for. With new ones now around $300 for a 10 year battery, it may be worth trying to get the money for that. Also, when you get it, let the RCCNZ know the new ownership and change the emergency contacts in their database.

Thank you Bro Gibo... I've been teaching this stuff for over 11 years with Coast Guard and the crap I keep reading and hearing about EPIRBs and PLBs that potential NZ buyers are told by "Mates" and "Retailers" is frightening considering this is a rescue piece of equipment.

    Thanks again for the welcome.

Cheaper to hire one when you need it Cooee, but I'd send and lend you my one for a trip if you get stuck ☺
