    Wanted to borrow: Cannon......

My sister is getting married up north in March and I would like to fire off a cannon shot once the knot is tied, to formalise things and scare the crap out of Aunty Barb, who has given up smoking.

Needs to be a proper decent cannon, not some little thing. One that could be used otherwise for beseiging fortifications or sinking ships.

I was going to put on a bathrobe and dance about firing an AK wildly into the sky, but I just don't think the shock value would be there.

So if you have a cannon that you can lend me, or rent out to me, please get in touch. I could swap you a lamb or some opium or something. Do I need anything other than an ' A ' Cat?

Thanks in advance for helping make little JoJo's day a special one.

Bugger your not in auckland I have a few mates into re-enactment and one of which has a full size feild gun he built to shoot blanks
Im sure he would of been willing to fire the thing on your behalf
But i don’t think anyone will lend you one to use with out supervision by them they are expensive toys easy to bugger up and can be very dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing

There was one at Eketahuna last year an L5 a5 105 owned by a militaria renactment society from Welly I think. With 1pound of powder per shot it rattled a few windows

where abouts up north? I dont mind lending mine out, its not the traditional looking type of cannon but it packs a punch... 60 grams of b.p. and a coke can goes approx 1km.
can make up a blank charge with a sand projectile that will not be dangerous after 50 meters or so.

also, it fires electrically, so you can time the shot well.

There's a guy that lives up the road from my parents I don't no how big his cannon is but when he fires it the windows rattle & the air smells of gun powder his house is around 500 meters away !! I don't no the guy but could find out if you wanted , he,s just south of Levin.
This year will go down in history . For the first time a civilised nation has full gun registration . Our streets will be safer , our police more efficient , and the world follow our lead into the future" Adolf Hitler ,1935
