If you can lock a lower gear (most autos have this feature), and the tranny cooler is in good nick - an auto will take you anywhere a manual will.
My limited experience in a ssangyong auto.

Nope, nope, nope... I know I have one, manual, 3L turbo diesel, in good nick, well maintained, service history, etc, etc. but if I sell it WTF will I drive!

Good luck mate, took me a while to find the one I have...

I went down the same path, and after a few months of looking, I ended up having to settle for an auto.
The very occasional manual that popped up were priced as if they were rare and sought after. Auto was around $10-12k, the equivalent manual $16-18k

Mines got a few km's on the clock now, can't remember how many off the top of my head. More than 200k less than 300k. Anyways I thought it was valued at about the $10-12k mark. Interesting to hear people think they are worth more than that just because it is a manual.

My issue is if I did sell it what do I get to replace it? It suits me pretty good really.
