wanted for Trade me : common sense

    team,

i listed a 303 mag on trade me and had it removed, if anyone has a couple of buckets of common sense they could spare i would happily buy it off you and send to TM..........

Dear Mark, I'm getting in touch regarding your listing(s):

    Lee Enfield mags 303 (#1259064158)

I have removed your listing from Trade Me because it does not appear to align with our firearms policy. You can check out the policy here:
Banned & restricted items | Help | Trade Me

You may only list "A" category firearms as defined by the Arms Act 1983. Please note that from 11 December 2013, the Arms (Military Style Semiautomatic Firearms and Import Controls) Amendment Act 2012 has come into effect, you can read more about it here:

Important Changes to Arms Act 1983: semi-automatic firearm, air rifle or air pistol | New Zealand Police

You can also check out our blog which has a lot of helpful information:
Rules and law on selling firearms on Trade Me | Trade Me

We do not allow reloaded ammunition to be sold on the site or large capacity magazines as defined by the Arms Act(i.e. more than 15 cartridges for .22 rimfire, or more than 7 cartridges for others) regardless of whether these are designed for bolt action or semi-automatic firearms. To make our firearms policy consistent with the 11th of December 2013 law change we have also made the decision to ban the sale of free standing pistol grips or other stocks that, when fitted to a semi-automatic rifle, would result in the weapon being classified as a MSSA.

Further to this, please note that as a seller you must sight the firearms licence of the buyer, or for remote sales sellers must receive written confirmation signed by Police confirming the buyer holds a valid firearm's licence. Forms are available at any police station.

Firearms must already be in New Zealand. Overseas members may not buy or sell firearms on the site. Only one firearm may be advertised per listing.

If you have any questions regarding this please contact the Licensing and Vetting Service Centre at Police headquarters at firearms@police.govt.nz

Please reply if you'd like to discuss this further. Alternatively, you can call Trade Me on 0900 TRADE (0900 87233). Please be aware, calls cost $1.99 + GST per minute.

    Regards,

    Cushla

I think you will need way more than just a couple of buckets.

You're toast mate - Trademe staff are bigger muppets than most of their users (any Trademe staff reading this: prove me wrong....)
Trademe blows, but we are stuck with it until a newcomer gains the critical mass needed to challenge the status quo.

if it holds 10 rounds then its e cat even for a bolt action that's the way trademe sees it..... its not really lack of common since more lack of knowledge of the laws we as shooters know that if its a bolt action its a cat no matter what (bar if its under 762mm total length) but trademe are computer geeks not shooters
