    Weatherby Mark V, preferably ultralight

Looking for a Weatherby Mark V but they seem to be hard to get a hold of.

Preferably 7mm-08 but will consider others.

Would you buy a brand new one?

I know where you could get a new Weatherby MKV ultralight in .308

Mate good luck with that, and if you find one hang on to it. Odd one appears on TM now and again. Had mine for around ten years now and one of the nicest rifles I've ever owned.
Shot hundreds of animals with it and have only just had it rebarrelled with a Trueflight.
Shortlift bolt, true half cock, smooth action, fully adjustable trigger, comfortable high comb stock with cheekpiece.
They leave all this European shit for dead.

Yeah was a bit of a moonshot posting here. I'm glad to hear how much you've enjoyed yours though - Makes me want to keep hunting for one rather than cave and get a finnlight.

I'd definitely consider buying new. Spoke to the wholesalers in Wellington but they said their supply line from Weatherby has basically dried up.

They are excellent light weight hunting rifles. Been lucky to pick up a couple over the years, won’t be parting with them anytime soon

I had Sako's for years and ironically only bought a Mk 5 cos I couldn't get a Finnlight at the time. Best decision I ever made
